Got class pics, prom shots, sports, clubs, performances, or just fun moments with friends? We’d love to include them in a slideshow and photo displays at the reunion!

We’re also putting together photo books for each elementary school, and after our Reunion weekend, we’ll share the class photos digitally for anyone who wants them.

Please send high-resolution digital photos to: 📬 photos@shs75reunion.com

We’re putting together a Class of ’75 Directory filled with updates, memories, and stories from all of you. It’s a great way to reconnect, reminisce, and see where life has taken us.

Please take a few minutes to fill out the directory questionnaire (link below) by September 19. You can share as much or as little as you like — just your desired contact info, just some memories, or a full update. And if you’d prefer to keep your answers private, just check the box at the end of the form.

We may use a few fun quotes for decorations or the website — but only with your permission.

Let’s celebrate our journey together — we can’t wait to hear from you!

We’re very excited about the reunion and are hoping this reunion weekend will be a memorable one of rebuilding connections and enhancing community.

One of the many ways we hope to facilitate that is by offering several opportunities for “informal’ connections during the weekend — including a Friday night get-together, the Saturday afternoon tour of the High School, the Saturday night afterparty and the Sunday morning breakfast at On Parade.

In that spirit, we’d like to introduce a new initiative… a Ride Share/Room Share opportunity. Our hope is this initiative will help recreate the sense of community we shared during our Syosset school days as well as make the logistics a lot more fun!

The Ride Share/Room Share Initiative

We’re looking to help Reunion attendees by facilitating opportunities to connect while traveling to and/or from the reunion as well as with opportunities to share housing or rooms. We have some volunteers who have offered to facilitate connecting those who wish to participate.

So, if you are:

• traveling to, or from, the reunion and would like to ride with someone else OR you are driving and might welcome a passenger in either or both directions;
• traveling by public transportation and might enjoy sitting with other alumni or sharing a local taxi to the venue;
• living on Long Island and might be open to housing a Reunion ’75 Weekend participant to stay overnight;
• looking to share a hotel room, Airbnb or a room in a home;

Simply email your name and contact information, with a brief description of what you are looking for, or how you can help, to shsconnecting75@gmail.com, and one of us will get back to you and help connect you to others who’s wishes/offerings complement yours. All correspondence will be private and we will not share any of your information online or in a public domain.

Talking about connections and community, here are a few other things all of us can do to help make this reunion special:

• Contact your SHS friends and ask them if they’re coming. Knowing someone is looking forward to seeing you there, and not leaving it to chance, can make a big difference in someone’s comfort level to attend.
• Volunteer to help with the reunion. Those of us working on it have all said that the best bonus about volunteering is reconnecting with old friends and making new connections/friends BEFORE the reunion even begins!

Registrations have been pouring in these last few days. We’re so excited that we already have 120+ people coming AND that we’ve been able to locate even more classmates! SO… we’re celebrating by EXTENDING THE EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT for one more week!

Please continue to send us friend’s emails, or better yet, contact them yourselves and give them the link to register here at shs75reunion.com. If you’d like to check with us if specific people have registered, reach out to us at reunion@shs75reunion.com.

Soon we’ll be sending out an email about collecting photos – class pictures from Elementary School, candid photos, etc throughout our years in the Syosset Schools.

You’ll also receive an email giving you the opportunity to share information in a Contact Directory we’re putting together. We hope to include information about everyone that would like to be included … not just those that are able to attend the reunion. We’ll keep you posted.

REMINDERS:

  • Tour of Syosset High School at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11.
  • A breakfast at On Parade on Sunday, October 12 (time TBD).

FYI, we’re also working on other informal opportunities to gather the Friday night before the reunion and Saturday night AFTER the official reunion ends. We hope you’ll be able to join us for any and all of these activities!

Also, in case you need of a place to stay, we added a list of local lodging options on our website. See ‘Hotels’ in the menu on the upper right side of each page.
